Smooth, balanced, and naturally expressive, Honduras CAFESMO Natural by SpiritHub Roastery comes from the highlands of Mercedes, Ocotepeque, in southern Honduras. Produced by the CAFESMO Cooperative, this specialty coffee is grown at elevations between 1,200–1,600 masl and showcases the region's rich growing heritage. With inviting notes of red fruits, chocolate, and balanced sweetness, it offers a smooth, rounded body and a clean, lingering finish.
CAFESMO, short for Cafés Especiales Mercedes Ocotepeque, is a cooperative of more than 280 smallholder coffee farmers working in the hills surrounding Mercedes, close to the borders of Guatemala and El Salvador.
Farms typically range from 2 to 12 hectares, reflecting the region's tradition of small-scale coffee cultivation. The surrounding landscape includes Cerro Pital, the Guisayote National Reserve, and the Pacayita volcano, creating a rich ecosystem with diverse microclimates and fertile soils.
Combined with elevations of 1,200–1,600 metres, these growing conditions support the development of high-quality Arabica coffees with distinctive sweetness, balance, and flavor complexity.
This coffee is produced using the Natural process, beginning with carefully harvested coffee cherries selected at peak ripeness.
The dedication of CAFESMO's smallholder producers, together with careful harvesting and processing, helps preserve the coffee's natural fruit character and sweetness, creating a balanced and approachable cup.
At SpiritHub Roastery, we selected Honduras CAFESMO Natural for its approachable character, balanced sweetness, and inviting combination of fruit and chocolate notes. Carefully roasted in Oman to highlight its natural flavor profile, this coffee offers a refined experience for lovers of filter and pour-over brewing.
